VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are the heartbeat of CMFA. Every season, it takes dozens of dedicated parents, family members, and community supporters to make softball happen. From setting up fields to keeping score, organizing tournaments to supporting communication, every role — big or small — matters.

Whether you can commit weekly or just occasionally, your involvement helps create a better experience for all our athletes.

TOURNAMENTS & EVENTS

Softball is about more than practices and games — our tournaments and special events are some of the highlights of the season, and they depend on volunteers to run smoothly. Opportunities include:

  • Field Crew – Help set up and tear down fields between games.

  • Concessions & Apparel Sales – Serve food, sell merchandise, or hand out gear.

  • Tournament Support – Assist with scorekeeping, organizing hospitality, or welcoming visiting teams.

  • Team Events – Help organize potlucks, year-end parties, or other team-building activities.

FUNDRAISING & COMMUNITY

Fundraising keeps registration costs manageable and helps us improve facilities, buy equipment, and offer development programs. Parents and supporters can help by:

  • Coordinating raffles, 50/50 draws, or bottle drives.

  • Organizing or volunteering at community fundraisers.

  • Reaching out to local businesses for prizes, donations, or sponsorships.

  • Helping build community spirit by spreading the word about CMFA at schools, community fairs, or other events.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Not all volunteer roles happen on the field. If you have skills in organization, communication, or technology, we’d love your help with:

  • Acquiring sponsors and expand community engagement.

  • Photography and videography to capture great moments.

  • Committee support work to help shape the future of CMFA.

Board of Directors
CMFA is run by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents and community members who dedicate their time to overseeing the growth and success of our association. Board members guide decision-making, support fundraising efforts, and help ensure every player has the best possible experience. New voices and fresh ideas are always welcome — it’s a rewarding way to give back and make a lasting impact on the sport in Chilliwack.

Board positions are annual or 2-year (executive) commitments and require all skill sets.

WHY VOLUNTEER?

  • Support Your Child – Show them you’re part of their journey.

  • Build Community – Connect with other families and create lasting friendships.

  • Develop Skills – Gain experience in leadership, organization, and teamwork.

  • Make a Difference – Your time and energy directly impact the experience of every player.
